Job summary

RR Donnelley is seeking a Bindery Operator - 1 for the Monroe, WI location on 2nd shift (M-F, approx. 3:00pm to 11:00pm). The role starts at $20.15/hour with a $2.00/hour shift differential.

Responsibilities include setting up and operating bindery machines, ensuring safety, quality output, and coordinating multiple workstations to complete printed materials. The position requires familiarity with paper properties, basic math for dimensional requirements, and the ability to read work orders and

Qualifications

• Familiarity with different paper weights, sizes, kinds and colors to identify paper conditions and adjust machines.
• Familiarity with basic mathematics to understand dimensional requirements in job orders and make adjustments.
• Ability to use standard and specialized tools to adjust and maintain bindery machines.
• Ability to use hand tools to adjust powered machines and fixtures.
• Ability to read and interpret written work indicating machine operation sequences.
• Knowledge of bindery equipment procedures, capabilities and limitations.
• Knowledge of setup, adjustment, procedures and folding/cutting of printed materials.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust and operate a variety of binding machines and attachments to process printed sheets into final books or catalogs.
• May set up machines with multiple functions and station capabilities to produce finished products.
• Inspect equipment for safety issues and ensure quality output.
• Operate adhesive binders that involve binding sequences including gluing and covering.
• Make adjustments to coordinate multiple work stations on a machine.
• Direct crew through all aspects of production and monitor productivity.
