Job summary

Baker Group is seeking an Industrial BIM/VDC Technician I to support the detailing project team in developing 3D equipment and spools, and to assist in producing install drawings and BIM deliverables.

You will collaborate with designers and field personnel, visit job sites for laser scans, and help grow the Client for Life through quality work and responsive service.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or diploma from an accredited two-year college.
• At least 1 year of AutoCAD experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D, Revit, and Navisworks preferred.
• Experience with Construction Drawings and Industrial P&ID drawings preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of piping is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D models and basic building components using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Perform light modeling tasks to support project design and coordination.
• Create detailed construction drawings, including installation and spool drawings.
• Generate Bills of Material (BOM) to support project needs.
• Visit jobsites to perform laser scans and integrate data into BIM models.
• Collaborate with team members to meet project deliverables and deadlines.
• Utilize Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) for documentation and communication.
• Assist Database Lead with maintaining Industrial BIM Database.

PURPOSE

This person will create and develop relationships supportive of the Baker Group Core Focus with internal team members and external clients, as well as maintain and grow the “Client for Life” concept with new and existing clients. Performs related work as required.

PURPOSE

The Industrial BIM/VDC Technician I will support the industrial detailing project team with the development of 3D equipment/specialties models, assist in producing spools and install drawings. This person will create and develop relationships supportive of the Baker Group Core Focus with internal team members and external clients, as well as maintain and grow the “Client for Life” concept with new and existing clients. Performs related work as required.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of 3D models and basic building components using Revit and AutoCAD Software
• Perform light modeling tasks to support project design and coordination efforts
• Create detailed construction drawings, including installation and spool drawings
• Generate Bills of Material (BOM) to support project needs
• Utilize Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) for documentation and communication
• Apply foundational knowledge of Autodesk tools, including Revit and AutoCAD, in daily project work
• Collaborate with team members to support project deliverables and deadlines
• Visiting jobsites to complete Laser Scans, processing scans, and work with the Project Team in the BIM model.
• Assist Database Lead with maintaining Industrial BIM Database.
• Actively increase knowledge base of construction methods and detailing to improve professional abilities.

Minimum Education & Experience Required To Perform Essential Functions

• Associate’s Degree/Diploma/Certificate from an accredited two-year college.
• Minimum of one year of experience with AutoCAD software.
• Experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D, Revit, and Navisworks is preferred but not required.
• Experience working with Construction Drawing and Industrial P&ID Drawings is preferred but not required.
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of process piping is preferred but not required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Valid driver’s license

ENVIRONMENTAL ADAPTABILITY

• Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally
• May have occasional visits to a job site which would require periods of standing, walking and/or climbing stairs
• Occasional exposure to variety of temperature, weather and construction site conditions
