Job summary

Bouma Corporation seeks a VDC/BIM Technician to develop, coordinate, and maintain accurate 2D and 3D building models for traditional and prefabricated commercial construction from preconstruction through field execution.

The role models cold-formed metal framing, incorporates design changes and scans, and supports shop drawings, BOMs, and fabrication layouts. Team-oriented, you’ll ensure model accuracy, constructability, and alignment with project documents across the project life cycle.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of BIM modeling experience in commercial construction.
• Proficiency with CAD, Revit, and modeling software.
• Familiarity with cold-formed metal framing and related wall/ceiling components.
• Knowledge of commercial construction documents and engineered structural models.
• Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively during BIM coordination meetings.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain 3D models using Revit, CAD, and other software for conventional and prefabricated projects.
• Model cold-formed metal framing assemblies and integrated architectural finishes.
• Review modeled fabrication tickets for accuracy and constructability.
• Update models to reflect design changes from addenda and RFIs.
• Maintain model accuracy throughout project life cycle.
• Collaborate with team members, customers, and trade partners during BIM coordination.
