Job summary

Adams Electric seeks a VDC/BIM Coordinator to oversee high-priority projects using BIM tools. You will handle layout, input, coordination, shop drawings, and as-builts with BIM staff support to meet schedule and contract requirements.

You will keep the VDC Manager informed on progress, collaborate with engineers and preconstruction, develop 3D models, perform clash detection, and produce construction documents from BIM models to support field installations.

Qualifications

• Two or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience a must.
• Emphasis in problem solving and analytical thinking.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Proficient in Blue Beam, Revit MEP and Navisworks.
• Experience with electrical layout in Revit preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all IPD and LOD meet contract requirements and owner satisfaction
• Maintain knowledge of the latest Revit and Navisworks systems
• Coordinate all layout and design of electrical systems in accordance with contract documents and Electrical Code
• Conduct thorough clash detection studies and communicate to the project team effectively and quickly
• Develop coordination studies and collaborative scheduling while working with other trades
• Produce 3D models using the latest information in dimensions, design specifications, materials and quantities
• Develop BIM models to present graphic walk-throughs using Navisworks and Showcase
• Work collaboratively with Engineers and Preconstruction Team
• Produce construction documents and drawings from BIM/3D models
• Provide quantity takeoff, bill of materials and schedules from BIM/3D models
• Work collaboratively with Vendors on projects to utilize the latest advances in electrical manufacturing, design, and Modeling data.
• Provide onsite project engineering for BIM projects and oversee all field installation monitoring efficiency, accuracy, and changes
• Assist project managers and superintendents in laying out work prior to design
• Provide technical support to project managers onsite and ensure all digital BIM documentation is current and available to the management team on or ahead of schedule
