Job summary

B&I Contractors, Inc. seeks an experienced BIM/VDC Coordinator - Plumbing to lead model-based outputs for MEP systems, coordinating with Project Management, Field Operations, and other trades to ensure constructible deliverables and schedule alignment.

You will mentor Detailers, drive workflow improvements, and support fabrication readiness and project closeout while applying company standards and codes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4+ years of experience in BIM/VDC, mechanical detailing, or MEP coordination.
• Experience producing coordinated mechanical models and construction-ready deliverables.
• Experience on commercial, industrial, or healthcare mechanical projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and coordinate BIM models for mechanical systems per company standards.
• Lead model updates from coordination meetings and design changes.
• Perform clash detection, track issues, and communicate resolutions.
• Ensure model structure, file organization, and version control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Serve as primary VDC contact for project scopes and provide updates to PMs and field ops.
• Collaborate in coordination meetings, document actions, and align deliverables with schedule milestones.
• Prepare model-based deliverables for fabrication readiness and record documentation.
• Provide mentorship to Detailers and Trainees to reinforce standards and workflows.
• Identify risks and propose solutions to improve VDC processes and outcomes.
