Job summary

Hoar Construction is seeking a VDC Manager to lead on-site VDC processes for multiple projects, driving BIM-based quantity estimation and preconstruction visualization. You will guide model development, coordinate with project teams, and push advanced technologies to improve efficiency and accuracy.

You will manage VDC staff, develop BIM plans, validate deliverables, and liaise with IT and field teams. Travel up to 10% is required; a strong background in BIM, VDC systems, and CAD tools is

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Building Science, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in VDC/BIM 3D modeling, construction technology or related field.
• Proficient with BIM technology such as VICO, Navisworks, Revit, Assemble and other design tech; Autodesk Suite and MS Office.
• Strong understanding of building design, CPM scheduling and preconstruction services.
• LEED AP, CDP or DBIA certifications preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Manage, coach and support VDC staff, create and utilize models for schedule optimization.
• Collaborate with project teams to develop BIM plans and strategy; implement VDC activities.
• Maintain QA of design; lead development of BIM deliverables and FM data.
• Develop and maintain BIM/VDC technologies; train and communicate changes.
• Implement BIM modeling applications; provide technical knowledge of BIM tools and related systems.
• Attend meetings to assist project teams with BIM coordination, budget development and client communication.
• Maintain, evaluate and report VDC metrics; manage VDC costs database per project.
• Communicate BIM plan to field supervision and trade partners; discuss lessons learned.
• Review trade partner BIM qualifications and advise on BIM compliance during buyout.
• Work with reality capture teams for laser scanning services.
• Assist IT with troubleshooting BIM software issues for local users.
