Job summary

Hoar Construction seeks an Assistant VDC Manager to support design and trade partner coordination on multiple projects. The role emphasizes communication, attention to detail, and strong visualization of constructability to guide deliverables and RFIs.

You may lead VDC efforts on several smaller projects and travel up to 15% as needed. Relevant BIM software skills and a collaborative mindset are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Const Mgmt, Architecture, Engineering or related field, or equiv AEC experience preferred.
• 2-5 years BIM coordination experience preferred.
• 2-5 years experience in Precon, Operations, or VDC-related role.
• Proficiency in Autodesk packages (Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks) and other platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead MEP coordination meeting discussions.
• Identify constructability issues, missing information, and notify RFIs.
• Maintain open communication with project teams to resolve issues promptly.
• Engage collaboratively with architects, engineers, and trade contractors.
• Assist VDC Manager in developing project-specific VDC strategies and plans.
• Support training in Navisworks, Revit, AutoCAD, and related tools.
• Prepare BIM plans and project guidelines with the VDC team.
• Create models for constructability reviews, quantity take-offs, and scheduling.
