Job summary

Hoar is seeking a VDC Manager to lead on-site BIM/VDC efforts across multiple projects in Birmingham, AL. The role focuses on production and model development for all project phases, leveraging BIM to improve quantity estimation, visual scope representations, and Target Value Design.

You will drive BIM plans, coordinate with project teams, and develop BIM deliverables while supporting corporate VDC goals. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in VDC/BIM modeling and construction technology.
• Proficiency with BIM tools: VICO, Navisworks, Revit, Assemble; familiarity with AutoCAD and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Manage, coach and provide support to VDC staff, creating and utilizing models for schedule optimization.
• Collaborate with project teams to develop BIM plans and strategy, implement VDC program activities for projects.
• Maintain QA of design and support BIM implementation opportunities in pre-construction, lead development of BIM deliverables.
• Develop and maintain BIM/VDC technologies and processes, provide training and communication on changes.
• Implement various BIM modeling applications and provide technical knowledge of BIM applications and related systems.
• Attend meetings to assist project teams with BIM coordination, budget development and reviews; assist marketing in communicating BIM benefits.
• Maintain, evaluate and report VDC metrics; maintain an accurate database of VDC implementation costs.
• Effectively communicate BIM plans with field supervision and trade partners; discuss lessons learned.
