Job summary

Bobbitt Group in Cary, NC is seeking a BIM Lead to drive model coordination on commercial and industrial construction projects. You will manage BEP development, coordinate MEP and design partners, run clash detection, and lead weekly coordination meetings with trade partners while ensuring accuracy of models for fabrication and installation.

The role requires strong Revit/AutoCAD skills, ACC/Navisworks experience, and a proven ability to communicate complex issues to field teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years BIM experience with leading model coordination on active construction projects.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
• Experience with clash detection and model coordination in ACC; Navisworks, BIM 360, or Revizto a plus.
• Strong understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, including MEP coordination.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents, specs, shop drawings, submittals.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the BIM lead on assigned projects from preconstruction through closeout and be the point of contact for PMs, superintendents, design partners, and trade partners.
• Develop, implement, and maintain BEP for each project, upholding standards, file naming, LOD, and model exchange schedules.
• Collect architectural, structural, MEP, and trade models and combine into a coordinated project model.
• Run clash detection in ACC, assign issues to owners, and track resolution.
• Lead weekly coordination meetings with trade and design partners, document decisions and signoffs.
• Audit incoming models for accuracy and LOD; flag gaps impacting cost, schedule, or field installation.
• Review models against documents, RFIs, and submittals; help resolve design conflicts early.
• Support constructability reviews using the model to spot sequencing and access issues.
• Produce coordination drawings, sections, and 3D views in Revit and AutoCAD for partners and field.
• Visit jobsites to verify conditions and support model-based layout and installation planning.
• Track field changes and ensure as-built conditions are captured in the model.
• Deliver final as-built models and closeout documents to owners per contract.
• Manage model files and folder structure on shared platforms so the team works from current data.
• Maintain BIM coordination standards and train staff across projects.
