Job summary

Jones Day in Chicago seeks a Billing Specialist for the Firm Billing & Collection Services to manage client billing end-to-end. You will collaborate with Client Services Lawyers, legal staff, and clients to ensure timely, accurate bills, monitor unbilled time, and prepare proformas and final bills.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in legal billing, advanced Excel skills, and experience with Elite or Aderant.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience in legal or professional services billing.
• Elite or Aderant experience preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft and finalize client bills in collaboration with CSLs and legal staff.
• Monitor unbilled time, generate proformas and draft bills.
• Ensure bills conform to billing arrangements and perform manual calculations.
• Prepare write-up/write-down forms and obtain approvals.
• Communicate with clients to resolve billing/collection issues.
