Job summary

Sperling Kenny Nachwalter, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join our accounting and billing team in our Chicago office. You will work closely with attorneys, accounting personnel, and administrative staff to manage the firm's billing process and ensure accurate client invoicing.

You will handle the full billing cycle, apply client guidelines, and support electronic submissions while meeting monthly deadlines in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of prior legal billing experience
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Experience working in a fast-paced professional environment
• Excellent communication and client service skills
• ProLaw experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Manage the full billing cycle, including pre-bills, invoice preparation, revisions, and final billing
• Review and apply client billing guidelines
• Process billing adjustments, write‑downs, and write-offs as needed
• Assist with electronic billing submissions and invoice processing
• Work collaboratively with attorneys and the billing team to meet monthly billing deadlines
• Prepare reports and support other billing and accounting functions
