Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP is seeking a Finance/Billing Specialist to manage the administrative side of client relationships and to process monthly client billing for assigned attorneys.

You will audit bills for timeliness and accuracy, prepare and modify invoices, coordinate rate approvals for e-billing, and assist attorneys with client inquiries, requiring sharp attention to detail and strong communication. This role requires professionalism and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and strong communicator.
  • Detail-oriented with good organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Process monthly client billing for assigned attorneys.
  • Audit firm bills for timeliness and accuracy.
  • Prepare, proof and modify invoices and send to client; submit to e-billing sites as required.
  • Assist attorneys and secretaries with client inquiries.
  • Complete electronic billing setups and coordinate with clients and attorneys.
  • Research client-related expense items for supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate rate approvals and rate submissions to e-billing sites.
  • Review non-compliant invoices and coordinate with attorney and client on modifications.
  • Work with firm management at year end to review accounts receivable and follow up.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Reporting directly to the Firm’s Billing Manager, the Finance/ Billing Specialist assists in managing the administrative portion of the client relationship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process monthly client billing for assigned attorneys
  • Work with attorneys and clients to understand billing guidelines and ensure billing practices are within guideline requirements
  • Perform audits of Firm bills to ensure timeliness and accuracy of client bills
  • Prepare, proof and modify invoices accordingly and send to client, including submission of invoices to e-billing sites as required
  • Assist attorneys and secretaries with client inquires
  • Complete electronic billing set ups including communicating with client and assigned attorneys and secretaries through completion of the setup
  • Research detail of client related expense items in order to provide supporting documentation on the bills
  • Coordinate with clients and attorneys on rate approvals and increases and complete rate submissions to e-billing sites
  • Review non-compliant invoices and coordinate with attorney and client on modification
  • Work with executive level Firm management at year end to review accounts receivable and perform appropriate client follow-up
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Accuracy, attention to detail and good organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong time-management skills and ability to multi-task
  • Strong client service focus and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Self-motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision
