Job summary

The AES Corporation is seeking a seasoned customer service team leader to guide a new construction support group. You will coach staff, monitor billing-related processes, and drive improvements in the customer experience while ensuring compliance with regulatory targets and quality standards.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree and have strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills, with experience in utility operations and working with unions where applicable.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in a customer service role with at least 1 year leading teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business Management, HR, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Experience handling sensitive and/or confidential information.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines for self and team.
• Knowledge of utility regulatory guidelines relevant to the business.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of new construction representatives to improve performance and career development.
• Ensure coaching sessions are effective and consistent for all team members.
• Monitor and evaluate customer service effectiveness and implement improvements.
• Communicate and enforce customer service policies and procedures.
• Foster a culture aligned with Safety First, Highest Standards, and All Together.
• Ensure the team meets or exceeds regulatory and performance targets and maintains quality standards.
• Collaborate with other leaders to enhance metrics and performance.
• Assist in creating and adhering to financial and performance targets.
• Work with local union as needed to maintain productive relations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
