Rite of Passage Team is hiring an ORR Youth Care Worker (English/Spanish) at Rite of Passage, Sycamore Academy. Join a group of passionate advocates on our mission to improve the lives of youth!

Sycamore Canyon Academy offers onsite housing, free daily meals, transportation assistance, and a collaborative team environment, enabling staff to make a meaningful impact in the lives of at-risk youth while enjoying nature.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to pass bilingual (English/Spanish) assessment.
• Minimum 1 year employment experience in the child welfare field working with children and/or adolescents.
• Must meet the requirements to be an eligible ROP driver. Must possess a current State Driver’s License and have an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years.
• Ability to pass a criminal background clearance check, drug screen, physical and TB test.

Responsibilities

• Coach Counselors provide for the physical, personal, and health needs of each student through individual counseling and behavioral, social, physical, and educational skill development.
• They provide a supportive environment, monitor and document student behaviors and activities, and assist with educational, social, athletic, and recreational activities.
• Counselors collaborate with professional staff to support each student’s treatment plan and perform standard paraprofessional duties related to program operations.
• They typically report to a Group Leader or higher authority, with operational supervision provided by a Senior Coach Counselor.
