Job summary

MFHS seeks a full-time Program Assistant for the Wilkes-Barre WIC location. You will collect data, perform eligibility screenings, and ensure delivery of WIC benefits and nutrition education to eligible clients.

Ideal candidates are bilingual (English/Spanish) with strong customer service, math skills, and the ability to lift up to 25 lbs. You will operate in a fast-paced environment that emphasizes collaboration and adherence to program policies.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree preferred but not required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years’ experience preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required.
• Child Abuse, PA Criminal Record & FBI Clearances.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to perform operations with units involved in measuring and weighing.
• Basic math skills such as adding, subtraction, division and reducing fractions.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs. regularly.
• Constant standing, turning, twisting, reaching and sitting for long periods.
• Occasional pushing, pulling, squatting and walking.

Responsibilities

• The Program Assistant collects data and performs screenings for client eligibility determination.
• Ensures delivery of WIC benefits and nutrition education to eligible clients per policy and procedures.
• Attends regular training sessions and updates as directed.
