Job summary

Medix in Cypress, Texas is seeking a Bilingual Surgery Scheduler to coordinate patient intake, schedule surgeries, and manage Athena EMR messages. The role requires fluent English and Spanish and involves front-desk duties and a female chaperone duty during male physician exams.

Travel to Tomball bi-weekly, valid license and insurance proof are required. HS diploma or GED is necessary; weekly pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English and Spanish.
• Approximately 2 years of medical office/scheduling experience.
• Knowledge of insurance verification or prior authorization.
• Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance for bi-weekly travel to Tomball.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient intake, scheduling surgeries, and Athena EMR patient portal messages.
• Serve as a female chaperone during patient exams for a male physician.
• Schedule/prepare for surgical days (Mon and Tue) and clinic days (~25–30 patients on Wed and Fri; travel on select Thursdays).
• Assist with crossover tasks such as scheduling port placements/removals for chemo.
