Job summary

Medix in Cypress, Texas is seeking a Bilingual Surgery Scheduler to coordinate patient intake, schedule surgeries, and manage Athena EMR messages. The role requires fluent English and Spanish and involves front-desk duties and a female chaperone duty during male physician exams.

Travel to Tomball bi-weekly, valid license and insurance proof are required. HS diploma or GED is necessary; weekly pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of insurance verification or prior authorization.
• Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance for bi-weekly travel to Tomball.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient intake, scheduling surgeries, and Athena EMR patient portal messages.
• Serve as a female chaperone during patient exams for a male physician.
• Schedule/prepare for surgical days (Mon and Tue) and clinic days (~25–30 patients on Wed and Fri; travel on select Thursdays).
• Assist with crossover tasks such as scheduling port placements/removals for chemo.

Salary: USD22 - USD25 per hour + Benefits offered & weekly pay

Bilingual Surgery Scheduler

Pay:$22-$25/hour, depending on exp.

Start:ASAP

Shift:M-F 8:30 - 5pm (Overtime opportunity)

Location:Cypress, Texas (77429), every other Thursday at their Tomball location (77375)

Contract Duration:520 hours, goal to be hired on after (weekly pay & benefits offered)

Dress Code:Black scrubs

Requirements:

• Bilingual: Must be fully fluent in English and Spanish.
• Gender requirement: Female (mandatory chaperone requirement for male doctor with female patients).
• Clinical / Insurance: Must have insurance verification or prior authorization knowledge/experience.
• Experience: Ideally ~2 years of medical office/scheduling experience.
• Compliance/Logistics: Valid Driver’s License and proof of insurance (for bi-weekly travel to Tomball).
• High school diploma or GED
