Job summary

Chicago Public Schools seeks a bilingual paraprofessional to support Special Education teachers in elementary and high schools. You will reinforce instruction, provide one-on-one tutoring, and assist with daily living skills according to each student’s IEP.

Responsibilities include note-taking, behavior records, and helping with field trips. A valid ISBE paraprofessional license and CPR training are desirable, with English and another language proficiency required.

Qualifications

• Paraprofessional license from ISBE required or obtained after 60 college credits.
• Must read, write and speak English and at least one other language.
• CPR training is highly desirable and may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Special Education teachers in reinforcing instruction for students with disabilities.
• Provide one-on-one tutoring and support for students with IEP goals.
• Assist students with daily living tasks and personal care as needed.
