Job summary

Lukos in Taylor, TX is seeking a Social Work / Custody and Removal Coordinator to support ICE detention operations. The CRC assists field office and detention staff, addressing detainee needs, trauma-informed care, and family communication, while coordinating removal planning and community resources.

The role requires a bachelor’s in social work or psychology, fluency in English and Spanish, and at least two years of relevant experience; a master’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social work, Psychology, or an equivalent degree.
• Fluent in English and Spanish, written and oral.
• At least two (2) years of related experience (e.g., services to victims, trauma-informed programming) and experience with case management in a local setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with detainee needs, requests, and complaints.
• Assist with parent/child communication and child welfare issues.
• Coordinate disability accommodations with detention facilities.
• Facilitate discussions on abuse, pregnancy, housing in segregated units, and release planning.
• Provide language interpretation for detained noncitizens and staff.
• Refer noncitizens to appropriate services (medical, mental health, chaplain, etc.).
• Support vulnerable noncitizens with wellness checks and follow-ups.
