Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Safety Leader for field operations in the utility line-clearance sector. You will influence crews, model our safety principles, and partner with Operations to drive continuous safety improvements.

Responsibilities include conducting worksite observations, delivering safety tailgates, training staff, investigating incidents, and reporting outcomes to Safety and Operations leadership. Requires OSHA/ANSI knowledge, CTSP by year end, and 30–40% travel.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent with safety credentials.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in line clearance or related industry.
• Knowledge of OSHA and ANSI requirements.
• OSHA 30 Hour or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• Bilingual Spanish/English required.
• Travel 30-40% including overnight.
• Knowledge of vegetation management tools and procedures.
• Familiarity with OSHA, ANSI, DOT, tree industry regs.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
• CTSP certification within 1 year of hire.
• Field work including standing, walking, driving, bending, lifting.
• PPE per OSHA and ANSI standards.

• Serve as a visible safety leader, influencing and motivating employees while modeling Lewis's Operating Principles


• Build and maintain partnerships with Operations to drive continuous safety improvements


• Participate in morning huddles and deliver safety tailgates/safety moments to job crews


• Conduct worksite observations to identify risks and assess compliance with company and regulatory requirements


• Provide safety policy, procedure, and regulatory guidance to Operations


• Train and coach employees on utility line-clearance tools, technical skills, roping and rigging, collision avoidance, climbing, aerial rescue, electrical safety, and First Aid/CPR


• Investigate and analyze incidents to facilitate organizational learning


• Prepare evaluations, summary reports, and recommendations for Operations and Safety Leadership


• Communicate safety program needs with regional leadership


• Report accurately and promptly to Safety and Operations Regional Leadership


• Provide governance and oversight during field visits with Safety Specialists, Operations Leadership, and field crews


• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Associate degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of High School diploma/GED with safety/industry-related credentials or equivalent experience


• Minimum 1 year of experience in line clearance or related industry


• Knowledge of OSHA and ANSI requirements


• OSHA 30 Hour or equivalent


• Valid driver's license


• Bilingual (Spanish/English) is required


• Ability to travel 30-40% of the time, including overnight


• Knowledge of vegetation management tools, practices, and procedures


• Familiarity with OSHA, ANSI, DOT, and tree industry regulations and standards


• Proficiency with computers, smartphones, and MS Office Suite


• CTSP certification required within 1 year of hire


• Ability to perform field work, including standing, walking, driving, bending, reaching, and lifting


• PPE required per OSHA and ANSI standards
