All Seniors Foundation is seeking a Bilingual Russian Patient Advocate to connect Russian-speaking seniors in west LA, Hollywood, and nearby communities with free care, including Medi-Cal, IHSS, hospice, and other benefits. You will translate and advocate during medical and benefits conversations.

This role offers meaningful daily impact, paid training, comprehensive benefits, and flexible scheduling for community-based work.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Russian and English (Ukrainian a plus).
• Experience with elderly populations, healthcare systems, or social services.
• Cultural competency with Russian/Eastern European senior communities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessments with Russian-speaking seniors and families.
• Translate between English-speaking staff and Russian-speaking clients during medical and benefits conversations.
• Help clients enroll in Medi-Cal, IHSS, hospice, Medicare Savings Programs, and other benefits.
• Accompany clients to medical appointments and benefits offices as interpreter and advocate.
• Document interactions in the case-management system and follow up on open issues.
• Build trust with Russian-speaking communities (including Ukrainian, Belarusian, Moldovan) through outreach.

Role Overview

As Bilingual Russian Patient Advocate, you will serve as the trusted point of contact for Russian-speaking older adults across west LA, Hollywood, and beyond. You will translate and advocate through Medi-Cal, IHSS, hospice, and other benefits navigation.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessments with Russian-speaking seniors and families
• Translate between English-speaking staff and Russian-speaking clients during medical and benefits conversations
• Help clients enroll in Medi-Cal, IHSS, hospice, Medicare Savings Programs, and other benefits
• Accompany clients to medical appointments and benefits offices as interpreter and advocate
• Document interactions in our case-management system and follow up on open issues
• Build trust with Russian-speaking communities (including Ukrainian, Belarusian, Moldovan) through outreach

Qualifications

• Native or near-native fluency in Russian AND English; Ukrainian a plus
• Experience working with elderly populations, healthcare systems, or social services
• Cultural competency with Russian/Eastern European senior communities, including immigrants from former Soviet states
• Strong empathy, patience, and ability to explain complex topics in plain language
• High school diploma; bachelor’s in social work, public health, or related preferred
