All Seniors Foundation, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit serving seniors across LA County, is seeking a Bilingual Korean Patient Advocate. You will translate, advocate, and guide Korean-speaking seniors through Medi-Cal, IHSS, hospice, and related benefits, empowering families with clear, compassionate explanations.

• Experience with elderly populations, healthcare systems, or social services.
• Cultural competency with Korean and Korean-American senior communities.
• Strong empathy and ability to explain complex topics in plain language.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessments with Korean-speaking seniors and families.
• Translate between English-speaking staff and Korean-speaking clients during medical and benefits conversations.
• Help clients enroll in Medi-Cal, IHSS, hospice, Medicare Savings Programs, and other benefits.
• Accompany clients to medical appointments and benefits offices as interpreter and advocate.
• Document interactions in our case-management system and follow up on open issues.
• Build trust with Koreatown community through outreach at churches, community centers, and senior housing.

Role Overview

As Bilingual Korean Patient Advocate, you will serve as the trusted point of contact for Korean-speaking older adults across Koreatown and the greater LA Korean community. You will translate, advocate, and walk families through Medi-Cal, IHSS, hospice, and other benefits.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessments with Korean-speaking seniors and families
• Translate between English-speaking staff and Korean-speaking clients during medical and benefits conversations
• Help clients enroll in Medi-Cal, IHSS, hospice, Medicare Savings Programs, and other benefits
• Accompany clients to medical appointments and benefits offices as interpreter and advocate
• Document interactions in our case-management system and follow up on open issues
• Build trust with Koreatown community through outreach at churches, community centers, and senior housing

Qualifications

• Native or near-native fluency in Korean AND English (oral and written)
• Experience working with elderly populations, healthcare systems, or social services
• Cultural competency with Korean and Korean-American senior communities
• Strong empathy, patience, and ability to explain complex topics in plain language
• High school diploma; bachelor’s in social work, public health, or related preferred
