Job summary
All Seniors Foundation is seeking a Bilingual Russian Patient Advocate to connect Russian-speaking seniors in west LA, Hollywood, and nearby communities with free care, including Medi-Cal, IHSS, hospice, and other benefits. You will translate and advocate during medical and benefits conversations.
This role offers meaningful daily impact, paid training, comprehensive benefits, and flexible scheduling for community-based work.
Qualifications
- Fluency in Russian and English (Ukrainian a plus).
- Experience with elderly populations, healthcare systems, or social services.
- Cultural competency with Russian/Eastern European senior communities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial assessments with Russian-speaking seniors and families.
- Translate between English-speaking staff and Russian-speaking clients during medical and benefits conversations.
- Help clients enroll in Medi-Cal, IHSS, hospice, Medicare Savings Programs, and other benefits.
- Accompany clients to medical appointments and benefits offices as interpreter and advocate.
- Document interactions in the case-management system and follow up on open issues.
- Build trust with Russian-speaking communities (including Ukrainian, Belarusian, Moldovan) through outreach.
