Job summary

National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP) seeks a Lead Medical Coordinator to oversee health services for children in care and coordinate timely, appropriate health support. You will supervise Medical Coordinators, train staff on pediatric health topics, and ensure confidential health records management.

You will develop policies, communicate with case managers, and assist with medical appointments, authorizations, and documentation. A valid RN license and bilingual English/Spanish are required.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with a Bachelor's or Higher health-related education qualification.
• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is required.
• Minimum of 1 year of employment in public health or a healthcare setting with care coordination, health administration, or direct clinical care.

Responsibilities

• Oversee health services for children in care and coordinate timely medical care.
• Supervise Medical Coordinators and provide staff training on medical topics relevant to pediatrics and migrant health.
• Develop and maintain policies for confidential health record management and health data reporting.
• Communicate health needs to case managers and clinicians and ensure timely scheduling of appointments.
• Assist in transportation to appointments and obtaining medical clearances as needed.
• Prepare Treatment Authorization Requests (TARs) and ensure proper documentation and uploads.
