Job summary

National Youth Advocate Program is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to oversee health services for children in care in Aurora, CO. In this role you will manage health records, coordinate care, supervise Medical Coordinators, and ensure confidentiality and compliance with policies.

You will train staff on medical topics, assist with scheduling and authorizations, and support foster parents with medical needs.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN with a BSN or higher in a health-related field.
• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in public health or healthcare with care coordination or direct clinical care.
• 1 year of experience in the child welfare field or social services setting.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Proficient with desktop/laptop computers and common software.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform work in alignment with NYAP mission and values.
• Oversee health services for children in care and coordinate timely care.
• Supervise Medical Coordinators and train staff on medical topics.
• Develop and maintain health record policies, PHI confidentiality, and care coordination.
• Ensure communication of health needs to case managers and clinicians.
• Assist in scheduling health care appointments and transportation for appointments.
• Assist with obtaining medical clearances and preparing TARs for payments.
• Ensure interpretration/translation services are in place and maintain health records.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure appropriate care and PCU provider approvals.
• Report medical emergencies per NYAP policies and DoH guidance.
• Support foster parents with medical policy education and required documents.
• Maintain medication cabinets, first aid supplies, and equipment inventory.
• Provide ongoing education to staff on health-related needs, CPR, and first aid.
• Assist during audits and perform other duties as requested.
