Job summary

The Centers for Families and Children’s El Barrio Workforce Development Center in Cleveland is seeking an energetic recruitment specialist to promote enrollment, engage job seekers, and verify eligibility for our workforce programs. You will coordinate outreach events, screen applicants, conduct intake, and build relationships with partners to expand enrollment.

This role requires a high school diploma, strong computer skills, willingness to travel, and the ability to work evenings or weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; advanced education or vocational training is a plus.
• Experience in workforce development or social services is preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience with clients facing employment challenges.
• Proficient in using electronic platforms (Microsoft Office Suite, internet research, database management, virtual learning platforms).
• Willingness to travel to other facilities and meetings; reliable transportation and license preferred.
• Available to work evenings and weekends; participate in trainings and meetings.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with developing promotional and recruitment plans to increase job seeker enrollment; target populations as applicable.
• Support community programs by promoting El Barrio through events and recruitment; build relationships with clients and recruitment sources.
• Screen, interview, complete intake, and verify eligibility for the program.
• Be familiar with El Barrio programs, eligibility requirements, and present opportunities to attract and enroll job seekers.
• Maintain relationships with contract partners to support referrals.
• Collect, update, and maintain data for recruiting and intake; provide data entry support for Workforce program.
• Ensure accurate reporting in CRM systems.
• Apply evaluations or tests to program applicants as applicable.
• Initiate outreach calls and mailings to prospective job seekers to ensure timely enrollment.
