Job summary

Peerstar LLC in Pennsylvania is hiring a Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS). The role supports individuals with mental health and/or substance use challenges through 1:1 peer support, advocacy, and empowerment.

You will help peers set recovery goals, connect to resources, and build community supports in a statewide context. Minimum requirements include 18+ years, personal recovery experience, PA CRS certification (or ability to obtain within 7 days), and bilingual English/Spanish proficiency.

Qualifications

• Eighteen (18) years of age and older.
• Self-Identify as having a Substance Use Disorder.
• At least eighteen months in personal, lived recovery experience.
• In the last 36 months have at least 12 months of employment or volunteer work.
• High School Diploma OR GED; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• PA-approved Vendor CRS Certificate (if Certified already).
• Completed a Pennsylvania-approved CRS training curriculum.
• Completion of 78 hour Recovery Specialist certification training approved by the state board.
• CRS certification or ability to become certified within 7 days of hire.
• Criminal history clearances required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required; fluency in both languages.

• Promote empowerment and self-determination.
• Build trust using lived experience and provide tools for growth.
• Offer individual advocacy and support to develop recovery skills and wellness.
• Help peers direct their own recovery, build networks, and access resources.
