Job summary

PeerStar is seeking a Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) to empower individuals with mental health and substance use recovery by helping them set and reach personal goals and become more independent within the community.

The CRS will provide 1:1 peer support, advocacy, and wellness guidance, drawing on lived experience to model recovery and empower peers in their own recovery journeys across Pennsylvania.

Qualifications

• Eighteen (18) years of age and older.
• Self-Identify as having a Substance Use Disorder
• Have at least eighteen months, in a continuous manner, of personal, lived, recovery experience
• In the last 36 months have at least 12 months of employment or volunteer work
• High School Diploma OR GED; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Must Produce PA-approved Vendor CRS Certificate (if Certified already)
• Has completed a certified recovery specialist training curriculum approved by the state of Pennsylvania
• Completion of the 78 hour Recovery Specialist certification training approved by the Pennsylvania Certification Board
• PCB Recovery Specialist certification OR the ability to become certified within 7 days of hire
• Criminal History Clearances- Epatch, Child Abuse, FBI and Verify Comply
