Job summary

Peerstar is currently hiring a Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS). This role supports individuals with mental health and/or substance use challenges, helping them set and obtain personal recovery goals and become more independent in their communities.

Applicants should have personal recovery experience and PA CRS training/certification, with a focus on empowerment, advocacy, and fostering self-help skills. Benefits and growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Self-identify as having a Substance Use Disorder.
• At least 18 months of personal, lived recovery experience (continuous).
• In the last 36 months, at least 12 months of employment or volunteer work.
• High School Diploma OR GED; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Must Produce PA-approved Vendor CRS Certificate (if certified).
• Completed a PA-approved recovery specialist training curriculum.
• Completed the 78-hour Recovery Specialist certification training approved by the Pennsylvania Certification Board.
• PCB Recovery Specialist certification OR ability to become certified within 7 days of hire.
• Criminal History Clearances- Epatch, Child Abuse, FBI and Verify Comply.

Responsibilities

• Inspire hope through community-based 1:1 peer support.
• Promote empowerment and self-determination.
• Build trust using lived experience and provide tools for growth.
• Provide individual advocacy and support to facilitate recovery skills and wellness.
