Job summary

Oregon Department of Human Services is seeking a Customer Service Guide (Public Benefits Specialist – Entry) for the St. Helens office. You will greet clients, assist with in-person and remote inquiries, and support daily office operations in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed interaction, accurate data handling, and collaboration within Self-Sufficiency programs to help clients access benefits.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a reception area or call center with high-volume work and customer service.
• Associate degree in Behavioral Science, Social Science or related field with six months of front desk or call center experience.
• Equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Be the first face of contact in most field offices and provide a welcoming environment.
• Assist Oregonians in person, by phone or email to resolve questions and concerns.
• Support the Self-Sufficiency Program and related office operations.
