The Oregon Department of Human Services is seeking an Eligibility Worker (Public Benefits Specialist) for the Dallas branch. The job involves interviewing applicants, determining eligibility for SNAP, LTC, TANF, ERDC, and Medicaid, and explaining decisions with a trauma-informed lens.

Bilingual English/Spanish is required, with a 5% differential pay after testing. This is a full-time, in-office role with a competitive salary range and benefits.

Qualifications

• One year at Human Services Specialist 1 level or two years public experience applying policies.
• Associate degree in Behavioral/Social Science or related field with six months public service experience.
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Responsabilités

• Interview applicants in person and by phone to determine eligibility for benefits.
• Perform eligibility determinations, redeterminations, and reviews.
• Explain eligibility decisions and provide trauma-informed support to applicants.
