Job summary

CSL Plasma in the United States is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform pheresis donor plasma collection, donor setup, monitoring, and disconnect in accordance with standard operating procedures.

The role requires venipuncture, vein assessment, donor education, data recording in the electronic system, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment. Some overtime and strict safety guidelines apply, including OSHA/HSE policies.

Qualifications

• Internal CSL employees must have completed the CSL Plasma DST training.
• External candidates must have at least 6 months’ experience as a phlebotomist; 1 year preferred.
• Minimum 12 months of experience in a medical or health care environment preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform pheresis procedure and plasma collection, donor setup, monitoring and disconnect.
• Perform venipuncture to begin pheresis process in compliance with SOPs and FDA guidelines.
• Monitor donor vein performance and adjust to expedite donation time and maintain safety and product quality.
• Educate new donors on the donation process, screenings, fees, policies and center information.
• Keep alert to donor reactions and assist or escalate as needed.
• Record incidents and donor data using the electronic donor information system.
