Job summary

The Greater Lawrence Family Health Center (GLFHC) is seeking a bilingual Patient Service Representative to prepare patients for visits, register them, verify insurance, and coordinate with clinicians across multiple sites.

You will collect co-pays, confirm appointments, handle scheduling procedures, resolve insurance issues beforehand, assist with Mass Health enrollment, and maintain confidentiality with a patient-centered approach.

Qualifications

• Bilingual; Spanish and English required
• High School diploma or GED certificate
• Training in a Medical or Administrative field
• Computer knowledge
• Ability to work flexible hours, evenings, and weekend coverage

Responsibilities

• Register patients and confirm appointments, update demographics, verify insurance and pull patient charts
• Answer incoming calls quickly using the standard script; maintain confidentiality and customer service
• Review clinician schedules for correct demographics and insurance verification
• Collect co-pays and issue receipts; balance receipts against payments by end of shift
• Notify staff of patient arrival; follow cancellation/rescheduling procedures
• Resolve insurance issues to ensure coverage prior to scheduled appointments
• Assist patients with enrollment in insurance plans (Mass Health, Commonwealth Care)
