Job summary

Tillamook County seeks a Patient Services Specialist to support registration, scheduling, and front desk operations in our Health and Human Services department. You will coordinate care, verify insurance, and assist with financial aid while ensuring HIPAA compliance and accurate EHR management.

Ideal candidates have 2 years in healthcare administration, strong communication, and the ability to handle sensitive information with empathy in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years of experience in healthcare administration, patient registration, scheduling, or a related field.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must pass a pre-employment criminal history background investigation.
• Must maintain HIPAA compliance.
• Driving may be required; valid Oregon driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as registration staff for all healthcare providers in the office and schedule patients.
• Verify patient insurance, update demographics, and process HIPAA documentation.
• Assist patients with financial aid applications and eligibility determination.
• Provide compassionate customer service and assist with MyChart navigation for appointments and prescriptions.
• Maintain EPIC EHR and handle routine administrative tasks and communications.
• Recognize and respond to patient distress and escalate when necessary.
