Qualifications

• Six months of work experience in a medical office setting or one year in a high volume public contact role.
• Typing 30–45 words per minute.
• Computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Previous cash handling experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication; bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Able to maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Able to multi-task in a high-traffic, interruption-rich environment.
• Reliable attendance and accountability.
• Ability to accurately enter and maintain sensitive patient data in electronic systems.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and schedule appointments for new, referred, and existing patients.
• Register patients, verify insurance, and collect payments.
• Balance cash drawer and respond to billing questions.
• Communicate clinic policies to patients, students, and staff.
• Maintain patient information in the electronic records system.
• Provide English–Spanish interpretation as needed.
• Cover other administrative tasks across multiple desks as required.
