Job summary

Urban Health Plan, INC. is seeking a Patient Services Representative for our Behavioral Health Department in the Bronx. The PSR will greet and register patients, verify insurance, schedule appointments, and provide compassionate support to patients and families upon arrival.

The role requires bilingual English/Spanish, excellent communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. On-site, M-F with occasional Saturday shifts, compensation is $19.50/hour based on 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of clerical/administrative experience, preferably in a health care setting.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is required.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to provide exceptional patient experience.
• Understanding of phone etiquette and standard office procedures.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and identifies their needs.
• Verifies insurance information through managed care website.
• Answers incoming calls and takes messages for providers.
• Registers patients, assigns PCP when applicable, checks and updates demographic information.
• Schedules and reschedules appointments.
• Maintains charts and provides administrative support to the department.
