Job summary

Urban Health Plan is hiring bilingual (Spanish/English) Patient Service Representatives to greet, register patients, verify information, schedule appointments, and assist families with empathy in a busy health care setting.

This fully onsite role is in the Bronx or Corona, requires 40 hours per week, with shifts 8am-5pm or 9am-6pm on varying days. Starting January 2027; compensation is $19.50 per hour plus comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Minimum of 1 years of experience with clerical/administrative functions is required, ideally in a health care setting.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to provide exceptional experience to patients.
• Understanding of phone etiquette and standard office procedures.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and identifies their needs.
• Verifies insurance information through managed care website.
• Answers incoming calls and takes messages for providers.
• Registers patients, assigns PCP (when applicable), checks demographic information, updates information as needed.
• Provides administrative support to the department.
