HOPE Clinic is seeking a Patient Support Specialist to help facilitate patient flow, register new patients, and verify eligibility. You will support the medical records team and ensure HIPAA-compliant handling of sensitive information.

The role requires at least one year in health care or patient navigation, fluency in English with bilingual abilities (Spanish or other languages) preferred. A high school diploma or GED is required, with an Associate degree preferred.

Qualificações

• Minimum of one year in health education, patient navigation, and/or health clinic patient assistance field.
• Insurance and medical experience preferred; HIPAA privacy and confidentiality knowledge required.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; capable of handling multiple tasks.

Responsabilidades

• Greet and assist patients with registration and eligibility.
• Check in/out patients using electronic medical records (EMR).
• Scan medical records into the system.
• Fax/mail out medical records and forms per HIPAA guidelines.
• Submit and document forms and records promptly.
• Protect patient and agency information; maintain confidentiality.
• Log forms and records in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Assist with calls, notes, scheduling, and inquiries.
• Support Patient Services team with related duties.
• Verify insurance eligibility for billing purposes.
