It requires strong English and Spanish communication, basic math, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHR systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years in healthcare, human services, or social services; or 3 years in customer service.
• Strong English communication skills (verbal and written).
• Strong Spanish communication skills (verbal and written).
• Professionalism and customer service focus.
• Detail-oriented with high accuracy.
• Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
• Team oriented and dependable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure revenue cycle processes by identifying patients needing financial assistance or payment plans.
• Perform outreach to patients with past balances or insurance issues.
• Assist with Medicaid/Marketplace enrollment and annual Marketplace events.
• Assist with sliding fee applications and maintain financial assistance files.
• Back-billing when insurance is identified or approved after visits.
• Answer billing questions and collaborate with the billing team.
• Verify patient credits and refunds; monitor monthly lab and radiology billing.
• Communicate anticipated costs and prepare No Surprises Act estimates on request.
• Monitor payer mix and support Clinic Director on mix changes.
• Provide coverage for the Patient Access Representative as needed.
