El Paso Children’s Hospital Corporation is seeking an Entry Level Patient Access Clerk at the Multi-Specialty Center in El Paso, TX. You will admit, register, and pre-register patients while explaining hospital policies and collecting financial information.

The role requires one year of office or customer service experience, bilingual English/Spanish, and basic computer skills. You will verify insurance, obtain authorizations, and assist with financial screening for EPCH programs.

Qualifications

• One year of office and/or customer service experience required with knowledge of basic office equipment and computer software programs. Healthcare or financial background preferred.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent. Training or educational background with medical terminology and familiarity with ICD9 coding preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required.

Responsabilités

• Admit, register, and pre-register patients in a courteous, professional and timely manner.
• Conduct patient/guarantor interviews and explain hospital policies; collect and assist with financial responsibilities.
• Inform patients on bill of rights and document demographic and financial data accurately in the system.
• Verify insurance via the electronic verification system or contact payers for eligibility and benefits.
• Obtain pre-certification/authorization to meet payer payment protocols.
• Assist patients with a financial screening assessment for EPCH program eligibility.
