Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 2+ years experience in a patient-facing healthcare or customer service role preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English; bilingual a plus.
• Strong math and cash handling skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with physicians, staff and patients from diverse backgrounds.
• Team player able to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and multiple electronic systems.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and complete full registration for patients requesting appointments with attention to detail.
• Initiate pre-registration and verify demographic/insurance information is accurate.
• Verify insurance, benefits, and referral information.
• Validate patient identity and coverage prior to services.
• Maintain HIPAA privacy compliance.
• Facilitate smooth patient flow through the clinical care process.
• Provide information on appointments, policies, and payments.
• Deliver upfront financial counseling and explore funding options.
• Inform patients of financial obligations and collect payments per guidelines.
• Act as liaison between patients, physicians, and staff and resolve care obstacles.
• Notify relevant parties about appointments, referrals, authorizations.
• Train other PSRs and maintain excellent customer service.
• Adhere to company policies and standards.
