Job summary

Prism Vision Group is seeking a Patient Service Representative for the NJRetina location in Roxbury Township, NJ. This onsite, non-exempt role handles inbound/outbound patient interactions, scheduling, registrations, insurance verification, and basic revenue-cycle activities to support clinical operations.

Responsibilities include full registration, pre-registration, benefits verification, insurance validation, HIPAA compliance, and financial counseling with patient education on payments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years in patient-facing healthcare or customer service.
• Excellent English verbal and written communication; bilingual a plus.
• Ability to use multiple computer systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and complete full registration for appointments, adhering to scheduling policies with accuracy.
• Initiate pre-registration and ensure demographic and insurance information is up to date.
• Verify insurance, benefits and referrals.
• Obtain photo ID and insurance cards; validate identity and coverage prior to services.
• Adhere to HIPAA standards for patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Ensure smooth patient flow through the clinical care process.
• Provide information on appointments and payment policies (records, parking, charges, cancellations).
• Provide upfront financial counseling and establish payment plans.
• Advise patients of financial obligations and collect funds as per guidelines.
• Act as liaison for patients, physicians and staff; resolve care delivery issues.
• Notify relevant parties of appointment times, referrals, verification and prior authorizations.
• Train other PSRs and deliver excellent customer service.
• Comply with company policies and standards.
