Job summary

The Achievement Center of LECOM Health in Erie, PA, seeks a Patient Access Coordinator to join a centralized triage and referral line, handling referrals and assisting families with resources for mental health needs. This role emphasizes confidentiality and trauma-informed practice under HIPAA guidelines.

This is a part-time position (25–30 hours per week), Monday through Friday, with flexible hours to meet program needs.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience working in social serving systems is required.
• High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree or higher preferred in medical billing or human services.
• Multilingual/cultural diversity experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assesses needs of children, adults, and families while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality.
• Processes referrals from individuals, families, internal LECOM providers, or external stakeholders.
• Completes client registration, authorization and eligibility determinations.
• Provides families with information on LECOM Behavioral Health or Physical Health services and steps to access care.
• Schedules appointments to complete intake assessments or evaluations for care access.
• Upholds trauma-informed practices in all activities and interactions.
• Supports mission and values of the agency and contributes to workplace culture.
• Participates in required meetings, trainings, audits, or projects.
