Job summary

You will greet patients, communicate with multiple departments, collect deposits and co-pays, and pre-register patients. Strong typing, medical terminology knowledge, and bilingual abilities are preferred.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in hospital/medical office or business office; admitting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to type with accuracy.
• Bilingual preferred.
• Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.

Responsibilities

• Input demographic and insurance information for patients admitted to the Hospital, Emergency Department and Outpatient Departments.
• Acknowledge consumers promptly and in a courteous manner, maintaining professionalism.
• Communicate with multiple departments, including outside physician offices; collect deposits, co-pays and balances.
• Notify Financial Advocates of self-pay or uninsured patients.
• Record information into computer, scan required documents, pre-register patients as scheduled.
• Enter orders for specific ancillary or admissions as rendered.
