Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Bilingual Medical Records Coordinator to support concurrent intake, appeals intake, and other operational services by gathering, entering, organizing, and validating healthcare information from hospitals and sources. You will work with medical records, clinical information, and electronic systems to ensure accuracy and timely processing.

The role emphasizes bilingual English/Spanish proficiency, attention to detail, and comfort using multiple systems.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in medical records management, medical billing, or healthcare information.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish required.
• Knowledge of office procedures, telephone communications, recordkeeping, and admin processes.
• Proficiency with portals, websites, databases, and downloadable data files.
• Knowledge of health insurance appeal processes and HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Enter demographic and clinical information into internal databases for concurrent and appeals intake cases.
• Access client clinical systems to retrieve information and enter case recommendations.
• Assist with document retrieval and troubleshooting information from client or vendor systems.
• Prepare, enter, index, and perform quality-control of documents for retrospective appeals.
• Gather and process healthcare information from hospitals via documents, image files, portals, and other channels.
• Verify case information is accurate, complete, and entered within timeframes.
• Assist with calls to provide case updates or recommendations to clients and payors.
• Maintain confidentiality, integrity, and organization of medical documentation.
