Disability Rights Texas is recruiting two Intake Specialist positions, preferably in Austin, Houston, or Fort Worth. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Education, Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling, Disability Studies, Social Services, or related field.
• Two years of relevant experience working with individuals with disabilities; or four years of equivalent related experience.
• Spanish bilingual proficiency (written and spoken).
• Ability to gather, analyze, and document information; use data collection and case management systems.
• Strong communication, time management, teamwork, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake interviews with applicants via telephone, virtual platforms, written correspondence, and/or in person.
• Gather, assess, and document accurate information to determine eligibility, case priority, funding source, and level of services.
• Provide information, referrals, and short-term assistance consistent with policies and program priorities.
• Communicate clearly with applicants, clients, staff, and external stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in case management systems and related records.
• Provide follow-up, documentation, and coordination with supervising attorneys; may manage a short-term caseload.
• Apply relevant laws, regulations, policies, and program requirements in assessing and responding to requests for services.
• Handle sensitive or challenging interactions with professionalism, sound judgment, and composure.
• Prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines and service expectations.
• Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure effective service delivery.
• May participate in outreach and training activities.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to maintain and enhance knowledge of disability rights.
