Job summary

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Chicago (BBBSChi) seeks a Bilingual - In School Mentoring Lead Mentor (2 positions) for James Shields Middle School. This full-time, non-exempt role pays $23–$24 per hour and reports to the In School Mentoring Manager.

Roles include supervising Littles, delivering curriculum, and coordinating with school staff and families. The ideal candidate will be bilingual (English/Spanish), hold an Associate’s degree with at least 1 year of related experience, and

Qualifications

• Fluent in English and Spanish; bilingual required.
• Associate’s degree required and at least 1 year related experience.
• Experience working in schools with youth preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, interview, assess and match youth for group and 1:1 mentoring.
• Lead mentoring groups and deliver curriculum.
• Maintain progress data for Littles and document attendance and activities.
• Coordinate with school staff, parents/guardians and program team.
• Ensure safety and compliance with BBBS standards.
