Job summary

Enlace Chicago is seeking Peer Mentors to support first-year students at multiple Chicago colleges and universities. The role focuses on guiding mentees through their initial year, providing academic and social-emotional support, and connecting them with campus and community resources.

Ideal candidates are 2nd–4th year college students, with at least 30 credits, a 3.0+ GPA, and full bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in college/university (2nd–4th year) and maintaining good academic standing.
  • Must have completed at least 30 credits toward degree.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher.
  • Fully bilingual in English and Spanish (spoken, read, and written).
  • Resides in Little Village or graduated from a Little Village high school.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor mentees and refer them to campus and Enlace Chicago resources; be the first friend and guide.
  • Maintain regular communication via text, email, or meetings; plan social activities and workshops.
  • Ensure mentees meet with academic advisors and follow up on progress.
  • Attend peer mentor meetings and professional development; support cohort with monthly 1:1s.
  • Collect and help manage required data for program evaluation; commit up to 20 hours per week.
