Job summary

Hana Center in Chicago seeks an Immigrant Justice Organizer to engage Korean American communities, develop leadership, and coordinate campaigns and civic engagement efforts. The role focuses on outreach, translation support, media representation, and collaboration with coalitions to advance immigrant justice.

You will work with the Organizing team, participate in year-round campaigns, and support grant reporting while engaging diverse generations within the community.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in Korean and English is required (written and spoken).
• Commitment to immigrant rights and social, economic, and racial justice.
• Experience with Korean American, Asian American, immigrant communities preferred.
• Proven track record of developing leadership among community members.

Responsibilities

• Build a base of engaged Korean American community members through outreach and leadership development.
• Plan and facilitate racial justice and community education programs.
• Coordinate cultural arts programming with contracted artists and instructors.
• Provide written translation in Korean to facilitate campaign involvement.
• Represent community members in media, legislative contexts, coalitions and funders.
• Organize actions, trainings, and mobilization opportunities for community members.
• Collaborate with national networks on immigrant justice campaigns.
• Support grant reporting and proposal development.
