Job summary

HANA Center in Chicago is seeking a Senior Manager of Organizing to lead community leadership development, power building, and campaigns. You will supervise the Organizing Team, align base-building with policy and civic engagement, and guide leadership training to broaden impact.

The role partners with the Executive Director to advance immigrant and racial justice, build a strong staff culture, and coordinate across programs. Evening/weekend availability and travel are expected.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of professional experience in Korean American, Asian American, or immigrant community issues with success in developing and winning campaigns.
• At least 2 years supervising staff with a track record of building diverse teams and developing staff leadership.
• Exceptional people management skills; proven ability to set goals, delegate, and manage staff performance.
• Excellent communication, tact, diplomacy and conflict resolution in diverse settings.
• Willingness to travel and work evenings/weekends.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a car for site visits.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise and guide Organizing Team staff, interns, and fellows.
• Support organizers to build a powerful base of multigenerational leaders through outreach and leadership development.
• Collaborate with the Executive Director and Organizing team on strategy, goals, and plans.
• Oversee and strengthen membership engagement within HANA’s organizing program.
• Manage organizing practice to integrate campaigns, civic engagement, and power-building.
• Facilitate campaign development and energize community to drive change.
• Create systems to track leadership development and impact.
• Coordinate with other programs to integrate organizing across the organization.
• Train and support Community Organizers with tools for leadership and power analyses.
• Build relationships with other organizations and national networks; represent HANA in coalitions and donor meetings.
• Identify and contribute to grant proposals to sustain programs and impact.
• Ensure timely reporting on milestones and impact.
